HouseMaster - Ulric C. Savant
The House of Vulux believe in transcendence and eloquence and in order to reach those peaks of perfection they believe bad habits must be purged from ones being. At first glance the Members who reside within the House of Vulux may seem as though they have it all. Rank, superiority, and all the material treasures that life can offer, but those amongst the ranks understand the irony of this these assumptions. Vulux members are indeed endowed with material blessings but it is only to hide the marks of their teachings and to fool the eye of the unknowing. As children the citizens are stripped from their parents and sent to a boarding house established on one of the many Vulux estates. Here the children are rigorously taught the ways of the dark arts, sophisticated mannerisms, perfection in all its forms.
Vulux teachers show no mercy for the lesser minded and instead drill their virtues into the still forming mind of the youth. The children are taught every aspect of life. The teachings mainly focus on etiquette, elegance and intimidation, and while in combat striking quickly and effectivley. Many may not assume the Vulux take pride in combat but the youth are rigorously trained to be the perfect unsuspecting weapon. The Vulux never stoop so low as to enact physical reprimand but instead manipulate the minds of their students enough to promote self-mutilation and self-discipline. They believe no better person to reprimand ones self is...ones self. On rare ocassions professors may force a child to beat his own sibling to instill a sense of power and control over peers. So long as the childrens' parents are loyal to the House they are allowed visiting priveledges so students never loose the connection to their families. The Vulux believe family is an important aspect to healthy growth and do allow interaction so long as it does not greatly interfere with the mind sets that The Vulux try ever so hard to maintain.
For those that show promise they rise in ranks and are allowed to leave the protection of the house at young ages, while those with less promise are forced to live within the House and continue training into their adult years. At that point they are allowed to venture forth, but are to be forever known as "slow rise".
For the young who agree to stay amongst the house and it’s influence they are treated well so long as they adhere to rules. The House attendees are expected to act sophisticated, above reproach, and judge any situation in a timely and respectable manner.
For those that decide to leave the main quarters they tend to keep their self inflicted scarring hidden by elegant scarves, or decorated linen, unashamed of their lessons but strong-willed in keeping up appearences.
[ 10 Years Prior | Year CCXXX ]
[ Spring of Harvest] The lower class disticts are in a bit of an uproar over job cutbacks. The Rusted Tankard is complete and provides jobs and a proper outlet for the poor after a long day.
[ Summer of Harvest ] The summer brings with it nice weather and the town is responding nicely. Traders are in full swing providing income to the city. The Highland Brothel is built in the Upper Class District.
[ Fall of Harvest ] Rumors surface amongst all the districts of an uproar in Favendew and Loralill. The House tries to calm the town, providing a small festival to distract from the turmoil going on just beyond the town walls. When the two southern houses fell The Vulux took in as many of the wounded as they could but many died from wounds and depression.
[ CCXXXIV ; spring ] The Vulux releases a new line of cloaks for all the districts. Unfortunately the estate tailor shop burnt down and all the fine linen was lost.
[ CCXXXV ; winter ] The winter was a bit more unbearable then usual, the high altitude calling for more wind chill. Many young and old perished that season and many have long lasting chronic coughing because of it.
[ CCXXXIX ; summer ] Summer of year 23 comes new hope for a better year. Population number sky rocket and many children are introduced into The Vulux.
"Though we stand looking into the edge of the abyss, we do not fear this darkness that surrounds us for it is in the darkness that even the smallest cinder can cast the brightest light"
Reigning House over the Territory of Agrendoc and it's citizens.
Seemingly kind in their handlings of political affairs, they are secretly manipulative and can pose a huge threat to the other Houses, especially because of their current class standing. The House of Vulux takes pride in raising their young into well rounded citizens of Agrendoc, but many ulterior motives lay shrouded in darkness.

Town Headquarters: Balistad
Profits: 55% of income is made fairly by obtaining taxes from it’s people and donations from the rich; however, 45% of income is done illegally and under the table.
Shady Dealings: The Vulux are involved in many frowned upon dealings, but an organization as successful as they are it would be highly unusual if they did not. This House deals with Assassins and Mercenaries and has deep connections with the Assassin community which allows for decent realtions with The Ignus. The rich pay for services and the House of Vulux provide the bodies to get the job done. The Vulux also dabble in slave trading from the seas which provides good standing with The Cervisces.
